Wray salutes legend Hill

Saracens owner Nigel Wray paid a glowing on-pitch tribute to Richard Hill after he brought the curtain down on a glittering playing career this afternoon.

"If there is a god then we know he likes Richard Hill," said Wray after Sarries had snatched victory from the jaws of defeat against Bristol. "It is great for him to go out at the top of his game. When I got involved at Saracens 13 years ago Richard was already here. He is still here and always will be.

"He is a modest man but is one of the greats.I congratulate him and thank him for everything."

Wray then presented Hill with a special signed Saracens/England shirt before the flanker wiped away the tears during his own speech.

He thanked the club, past and present coaches and his surgeon Fares Haddad and the other medical staff which repaired Hill's decimated knee.
