A New Southgate man who was arrested in a car with more than £900,000-worth of heroin is facing 12 years in jail.
Erdal Ince, 32, from Weld Place, was caught on 14 November after police tracked a car he was driving for more than 220 miles from London towards Bradford.
He was travelling in convoy with another car and when they stopped the police arrested three men, including Ince, and discovered 20 blocks of heroin sealed with tape and plastic.
In police interviews Ince admitted that he was being paid £10,000 to transport the drugs to Bradford. He said he was aware that it was heroin but did not know where it was going as he was being directed by a passenger in the second car.
Co-conspirator Serdal Boyraz, also 32, from Amhurst Road, Hackney, also pleaded guilty to conspiracy to supply a class A drug and was jailed for 16 years.
Detective Inspector Paul Johnson of the Met police Projects team said: "The Projects team is committed to dismantling criminal networks that make their money through the selling of Class A drugs.
"The seizure of these drugs with a street value in excess of £900,000 again targets this criminal element in society and demonstrates the Met's drive to make the streets of London safer."
