Teenagers from Denmark enjoyed a trip to Britain recently when they visited Aldenham School in Elstree.
Fifty teenagers, aged 14 to 18 years, travelled from Danish boarding school Gram Efterskole and spent a day at Aldenham learning what life was like for the boarders of Britain.
They learnt about the routines and rules of Aldenham School, and were surprised to learn that smoking was banned at the school, as they were allowed to puff away at home.
The Danes said they had enjoyed the visit, and were keen to come back. Three are now looking into joining the Sixth Form in September.
History teacher John McAllister, who organised the visit, said: "Contacts such as this with the wider community of Europe deeply enrich the experience of all who participate, broadening their horizons."
