A burst water main caused flooding at the public library and the surrounding area in Elstree Way, Borehamwood, on Tuesday morning.
Fire crews from Borehamwood and Potters Bar fire stations helped pump the excess water out of the area to reduce the risk of flood damage.
Elstree Film and TV studios were also affected by the flooding, forcing the producers of Big Brother to install portaloos for the residents of the house once the water supply had been turned off.
