Thousands of homes lose power

THOUSANDS of people in central Harpenden had their breakfast disrupted by a morning power cut.

Power supply company EDF Energy has apologised for the disruption, which was caused by a problem with the overhead cables.

Wednesday's power cut was fixed by the company's engineers within 13 minutes.

One reader in Leyton Road told the Review her electric toothbrush was still not working in the evening, but EDF insist there was no problem with the supply at that time.
