Fatal car accident pensioner named
AN ELDERLY man who died in hospital after being hit by a car on Sunday has been named.
Sher Mohammed, 89, of Granville Road, St Albans, died at the QEII hospital in Welwyn Garden City on Sunday evening.
He had been hit by a red Ford Fiesta as he crossed Hatfield Road at the junction with Granville Road at around 3.45pm that afternoon.
An inquest in to this death was opened and ajourned today.
The primary cause of death was internal bleeding. Mr Mohammed also suffered fractured ribs.
