Beautiful weather made for another successful Radlett festival this afternoon as hundreds of families soaked up the sun.

Soaring temperatures and blazing sunshine ensured a healthy turn-out for the festival, which, as usual, was hosted in the Phillimore Recreational Ground..

Highlights of the event included the annual dog show, dance displays, fairground rides and the bevy of stalls.

A bullock-draw cart from Bhaktivedanta Manor, in Letchmore Heath, was also on hand to give children a ride around the festival.

Ron Worthy, chairman of Aldenham Parish Council, said the "fabulous" weather had helped provide a good attendance.

He said: "When you get weather like this it brings in those few extra people who might not have otherwise come.

It is a village fair, all the local societies are here and even though they might not make that much money they raise publicity and that's what it is all about."
