Villagers get apology after farce
Shenley Village III 82
Rickmansworth III 327 for 7
Saracens Hertfordshire Cricket League Division 11
A total mismatch was the result of this game between Shenley Village III and Rickmansworth III in Saracens Herts Division 11.
Rickmansworth racked up 327 runs for 7 wickets in just 43 overs as senior Middlesex County League batsman Zawa Hussein was on duty for the opposition.
Credit to the Village side's Putman, who got 3 for 78 in his eleven over stint, and Gary Burkhardt's brief 1.3 over spell saw a 2 for 18 return. Tahil and Munting took the other wickets.
In reply, the bowling soon had the village side reeling and the efforts of Geoff Evans 29 runs stemmed a worse rout as he was unfortunately run out with no other player hitting double figures.
The game was lost by 242 runs. After the game the club apologised to captain and village president Ray McLennan.
