Bowlers rue their luck as disputed decisions spell defeat

Shenley Village II 202 all out Rising Stars 204-7 Sacarens League Division Ten Returning captain Affleck won the toss and chose to bat at the nursery ground at Shenley. on Saturday, July 3.

Bubs Willingham and Andy Lewis made 50 together before the former was bowled for 22. Lewis (28) was joined by Lloyd Willingham (35) before being bowled with the score on 63.Although Willingham (35) played solidly, Shenley were soon 94-4.

Things looked bleak as old hand Stubbs (26 not out) and 13-year-old Morgan Stanley were thrust together, at 123-6. However, the duo shared an impressive 54-run partnership, before Stanley (26) was bowled.

Clarke was bowled in the penultimate over, bringing the innings to a close on 202.

In reply, things began well when Clarke had the opener caught behind with two on the board.

Shenley chipped away at the batting order, but two disputed LBW decisions not given took the game away from them.
