Tottenham Hotspur manager Juande Ramos wants to make Rangers right-back Alan Hutton his first signing.
Spurs are believed to be ready to make a £6m bid when the January transfer window opens and will offer one of Ricardo Rocha, Anthony Gardner or Paul Stalteri as part of the deal.
The move may depend on Rangers' progression in the Champions League and Ramos could have to wait until the summer to get his man if the Scottish side progesses.
Hutton has impressed for both Rangers and Scotland this season but is believed to favour a move to the Premiership in a bid to further his career.
