Radlett claim famous win
Radlett bounced back from their dismal opening day defeat to High Wycombe to claim a famous victory at Slough.
Last season's Home Counties Premier League Division One runners-up - and 2005 and 2006 champions - were outplayed in all departments on Saturday as the Cobden Hill outfit claimed their first victory at Slough since achieving promotion to the top-flight.
Three wickets from skipper Shane Burger and figures of five for 71 in unfavourable conditions from new recruit Paul Barker helped dismiss Slough for 235.
In reply, newly-contracted Middlesex player Kabir Toor saw Radlett home with an unbeaten 85, aided by Burger's 48.
Meanwhile, Neal Parlane came within seven runs of making it back-to-back league centuries, but his West Herts side had to settle for a draw from their ran-affected short trip to Hemel Hempstead.
Fresh from scoring 153 against North Mymms in the season's opener last week, Parlane's 93 included two sixes and 13 fours before he became one of Duncan Howard's (five for 40) five victims. However, the New Zealander lacked any significant support and the Stags were dismissed for 169.
West Herts' hopes of victory would have been high when Steve Clark (four for 41) and Craig Sanders (two for 64) reduced the home side to 32 for four, and then 65 for six, but an unbeaten 60 from Craig Weston helped Hemel to safety at 127 for six.
Elsewhere, Shaz Malik made his first league start of the new campaign, but for once he didn't have the stage totally to himself as Langleybury narrowly failed to beat Sawbridgeworth.
The Pakistan A star struck 48, but was out-scored by Ross Channer (59) and Adnan Bashir (52) as Bury reached 224 for eight.
Josh Godden's five for 60 led the chase for wickets in Sawbo's reply, but from a perilous position of 87 for seven they managed to hold on at 180 for nine.
